Being good neighbours

You need to be aware of how yours and your guests activities may impact on nearby residents. This is especially true with the increase of new camp sites where there haven't been sites before.

Some things to consider to keep your neighbours happy and reduce complaints:

  • you may wish to instigate "quiet time" after 11pm. This will prevent noise that disturbs residents late at night.
  • smoke from fires, BBQs, wood burners and wood fired saunas etc can affect nearby residents. You should consider their location and the wind direction.
  • flashing lights, directed lighting or lighting beyond your boundary can disturb nearby residents. Consider the location of lighting and whether it will affect properties nearby.
  • litter in unsealed containers or lying around can be blown into nearby properties. Consider having suitable lidded containers for rubbish and regular checks for litter.
