Hardy's Birthplace Visitor Centre is looking for volunteer Welcome Hosts.
Welcome Hosts play a vital role in delivering the Hardy's Birthplace experience by inspiring our visitors and helping them to learn more about this special place in an interesting and enjoyable way. The Visitor Centre is a gateway for local people and visitors alike who would like to discover more about the life of Hardy and adventure into the natural world in which he lived and wrote.
As a Welcome Host you will provide a warm, friendly welcome to all visitors as the public face of Dorset Council and National Trust. You can learn more about Thomas Hardy and the local landscape and share your knowledge and enthusiasm with visitors who also want to know more. There may also be traditional craft activities that you could help us with, whilst engaging with visitors to the centre and manning the National Trust shop.
This role will suit people who have an enthusiastic and friendly manner, enjoy meeting people, like operating as part of a team and who are keen to learn more about the local landscape, traditional rural skills and Thomas Hardy.
Please contact the Hardy's Birthplace Team for more information.
