Carey Outdoor Education Centre

Carey provides high quality, therapeutic outdoor learning for children and young people. We are part of Dorset Council’s Harbour East team, which provides a multi-agency approach to support our most vulnerable young people.

At Carey we use the fantastic outdoor environment to engage with young people, focusing on:

  • understanding and managing risk
  • building and restoring relationships
  • developing self-esteem and resilience through a diverse range of outdoor activities
  • improving mental health and wellbeing through positive experiences in the outdoors

We also work with schools and other organisations to develop learning outside the classroom activities.

Our team can:

  • provide training and support at your school
  • assisting in establishing safe and educationally beneficial resources for your staff to access
  • provide training for teaching staff and visit leaders on site at Carey
