Built in 1926 by a local brewing family, the Electric Palace was at the forefront of its time because, as its name states, it was powered by electricity. Generating its own power in the engine room at the rear of the building, it enabled the people of Bridport to experience the wonder and glamour of the new age of cinema, as well as opera and other stage shows. This cultural gem retains many of its original Art Deco features, such as the impressive hanging lamps, the plush red velvet tipping seats in the auditorium and the stunning murals.
Recent extensive renovations have brought the Electric Palace into the 21st Century and it continues to be an extraordinary venue for your wedding. From a dazzling 20s extravaganza to a more simple and intimate affair, there are plenty of options available and you'll have exclusive use of the venue. With a first class projection and sound system in house, walk down the aisle to your own bespoke soundtrack or star in your own movie trailer. See yourselves on the big screen or on the red carpet - this is your day to take centre stage!
