What is a Site of Nature Conservation Interest?

There are currently around 1,300 Sites of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCIs) recognised in Dorset. These are sites considered to be of local or regional importance for the wildlife and habitats they support. The selection and monitoring of SNCIs is overseen by Dorset Wildlife Trust
