Manual Handling and Vehicle Fire and Evacuation Training

This training programme is for all drivers responsible for the transportation of passengers in minibuses. 

It is a half day programme based in both the classroom and vehicle.

The content of the course covers:

• current legislation
• principles and practices of safe manual handling
• understanding of employer and employee responsibilities
• completing a risk assessment
• the importance of vehicle familiarisation
• types of fire extinguishers in use today
• how fires can occur and how we can help to avoid them
• taking control in an emergency situation
• safe evacuation of the vehicle

This is then followed by the on-vehicle training, with a simulation of a smoke-filled bus and how to safely evacuate the passengers.
