Dorset Youth have lots of opportunities and support for young people in Dorset. 

The Mix is a support service for young people aged 11 to 25 offering advice for relationship issues, working life, school life, housing depression and any other issues. They have online discussion boards and also offer one to one focussed support with their trained team 

If you are an EU, other EAA or Swiss citizen and already have pre-settled status, the Home Office has introduced a new process to automatically convert eligible pre settled status holders to settled status (after continuously living in the UK for 5 years) without the need for a further application.

This should happen automatically for all of those who are eligible.

Care Leavers week

Care Leavers week celebrates care leavers and raises awareness of the issues for care experienced young people. It usually falls over October half term.

Chesil Youth Pride

Celebrating Dorset’s LGBTQ+ youth community. 

Dorset Council and Weymouth College host Chesil Youth Pride in partnership with the police and others. The event, which celebrated its second year in 2024, was created as a result of feedback Dorset Council received from LGBTQ+ young people in the Chesil locality. It provides a safe space to celebrate identity and who the young people are.

The Care Leavers covenant has lots of information about jobs, offers and offers for care leavers in the community 

Everyone Active gyms are offering free memberships for: 

  • cared for children from birth to age 15 
  • care experienced young people aged 16 to 25 

Speak to your Personal Adviser who can complete their online referral form to request a membership for you. You will then be asked to fill out a short survey to help Everyone Active support your physical and mental wellbeing through being active.
