Apply for a filming permit in Dorset
If you are carrying out filming, drone filming or photography activity (for broadcast/public viewing) on Dorset Council owned land you will need a filming permit. Individual photographers taking stills for personal use do not need specific permission. If you are using pictures for commercial use you must complete the application form.
You will need to have:
- £10 million public liability insurance
- £10 million employer’s liability insurance
- risk assessment

We ask that you:
- apply for permissions in good time – please allow 1 working day for an initial response
- abide by our filming code of conduct
- consult and inform residents and businesses who may be disrupted and inconvenienced by your activities
