There are a number of Local Nature Reserves in Bridport, including Bothenhampton and Asker Meadows. All these sites are supported by this Friends' group.
Friends of Eight Acre Coppice
Eight Acre Coppice is a small area of important ancient woodland in Bovington. The site is owned by Dorset Council.
The Guardians of Slop Bog
Slop Bog is a rich wildlife site with woodland, heathland, open water and bog covering 22.6 hectares. This site is in Ferndown in East Dorset and owned by Dorset Council.
Friends of Radipole Wood
Radipole Wood is a lovely community wood in Weymouth. The site is owned by Dorset Council.
Friends of the Rodwell Trail and Sandsfoot Castle
The Rodwell Trail is a shared use walking and cycling path which now forms part of National Cycle Network Route 26 (Portland to Portishead).
Contact the Friends of the Rodwell Trail and Sandsfoot Castle to become a member and be involved in helping to make this wonderful green route across town even better.
Friends of The Quarr
This community woodland is important as it contains an old quarry face which is recognised as a Regionally Important Geological Important Site (RIGS). The site is owned by Sherborne Town Council. If you are interested in joining the friends groups please contact contact Sherborne Town Council.
Friends of Upton Wood
A number of practical volunteer days are held at Upton Wood throughout the year to help manage this small urban woodland. Tasks include holly coppicing, scrub bashing, pond digging, bulb planting and hedge maintenance.
