Dorset Council and BCP Council have been working together on a new joint local transport plan to ensure our transport systems meets the expectations of everyone, and to identify the most important issues to prioritise future investment.
The new draft Local Transport Plan 2026 to 2041 sets out the vision for improving transport and travel over the next 15 years. This replaces the previous plan for Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset for 2011 to 2026.
In 2024 we asked for your thoughts and ideas on what should go into our Local Transport Plan. Now we’re inviting you to share your views on our draft plan, whether we've got it right, or have missed out anything important.
Your views are really important. They will help us make sure the final plan reflects what matters most to local people, businesses and communities. Your feedback will let us know if we have got the vision, objectives and implementation plans right. Your views will be important for any changes to the final Transport Plan.
The consultations runs from 18 August to 13 October 2025 online and drop in events. You can complete the survey online.
We will start working on delivering schemes in the Implementation Plan in your local area from 2026.
